2 MICHELLES, 2 AMERICAS & SHAME vs. PRIDE
Like Michelle Obama, I am a "woman of color." Like Michelle Obama, I am a working mother of two young children. Like Michelle Obama, I am a member of the 13th generation of Americans born since the founding of our great nation.

Where Are All The Leaders?
"Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder. We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'Stay the course'

Yellow Dog Journalism, The Best and Worst Lists
6/14/2007 Thirty-four years ago, Texas Monthly began publishing a bi-annual article on the “Ten Best and Ten Worst” Texas State Legislators. Political insiders in Austin and die-hard politicos across the State look forward to this review with much gusto like a blood-thirsty audience at a boxing event or a bull fight.
Governor Perry, Don’t Mess with Texans’ Private Property!
6/14/2007 The right to own and enjoy private property is one of the most basic rights of our free society. The 80th Legislature clearly understood that in passing HB 2006, which provides owners of private property with necessary protections and checks against the government power of eminent domain. According to its author, State Rep. Beverly Woolley (R-Houston), the bill attempts to “make condemnation a level playing field,” since the current eminent domain laws are “tilted in favor of condemning entities and against property owners.”
How to Stop a Bully
6/14/2007 As the sun beat down on the African plain, a herd of water buffalo grazed along the Timbavati River, unaware of impending danger. In nearby grasses a pride of five lions crouched, waiting to pounce. While the buffalo grazed, the lions crawled closer and then sprang from their cover, attacking the startled herd, searching for its weakest member. Finding a calf running along the river’s edge, they leapt upon it and tumbled into the water.
CorridorWatch.org News Bulletin
5/9/2007 Overcoming a veto will require another vote in both houses of the legislature. At least 21 Senators and 100 Representatives must vote to overturn the veto upon the bills reconsideration. Any less in either house and the veto sticks and the bill dies.
ACTION ALERT: Call your state representative today in support of a $2.5 billion property tax cut!
5/9/2007 Reports from across the state make it clear that the phased-in property tax cut started this year is not being seen by anyone. For example, El Paso taxpayers are finding a staggering 17 percent increase. In Fort Bend County, outside Houston, folks are seeing increases between 10 percent and 50 percent increase! The story is the same across the state.
Restoring Justice to a Troubled Nation
5/3/2007 The Scriptures warn, "But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of what is good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. . ." (I Tim. 3:1-5).
Democrats’ New Bill Criminalizes Preachers!
5/3/2007 A new bill sits waiting to be voted on — one that will ultimately affect millions of American lives if it passes. This bill — known as the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act — does not actually do what you would expect it to do. What it does is protect the homosexual agenda, as opposed to keeping minorities safe. If the bill were to pass, it would protect the gay agenda to the extent that a preacher could be arrested for decrying homosexuality from the pulpit as “an abomination in the eyes of God.”
14th Annual Collegians Leadership Summit
5/3/2007 Do you know a college student who might like to attend Eagle Forum's 14th Annual Collegians Leadership Summit to be held in Washington, DC on Thursday and Friday, June 21-22? College students from about 100 colleges nationwide will be hearing dynamic speakers and networking with college students from all over the country. We think this will be the most interesting Collegians Summit we've ever held.
VICTORY !
5/3/2007 HB1892 passed last week in the Senate 27 to 4 and today in the House by a vote of 139 to 1. Those margins don't invite a veto, but Governor Perry is poised with pen in hand. He has until Monday, May 14th to send the bill back with his veto and objections. If he doesn't act by that date the bill will automatically become law.
STOP THE TRANS-TEXAS CORRIDOR!
4/9/2007 The battle against the Trans-Texas Corridor continues in the Texas House of Representatives as detailed below in the Special Alert from David Stall with CorridorWatch, the leading voice in the battle against the TTC. Please carefully read the alert and take immediate action to ensure victory.
Ann Coulter
McCain: Pump This!
Well, I guess we're all pretty relieved we didn't drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge back in 2002. What a disaster that would have been. The vote on ANWR was almost entirely along partisan lines, with all Republicans, except a handful of "moderates," voting for drilling, and all Democrats, except a handful of sane Democrats like Zell Miller, voting against drilling.
You Can't Fuel All of the People All of the Time
Liberals dismiss studies that show a link between abortion and breast cancer, claiming they are biased because the people promoting the studies are "anti-choice." For the same reason, no one should believe the Democrats' "energy" policies.
Justice Kennedy: American Idle
After reading Justice Anthony Kennedy's recent majority opinion in Boumediene v. Bush, I feel like I need to install a "1984"-style Big Brother camera in my home so Justice Kennedy can keep an eye on everything I do.
Bush's America: 100 Percent Al-Qaida Free Since 2001
In a conversation recently, I mentioned as an aside what a great president George Bush has been and my friend was surprised. I was surprised that he was surprised. I generally don't write columns about the manifestly obvious, but, yes, the man responsible for keeping Americans safe from another terrorist attack on American soil for nearly seven years now will go down in history as one of America's greatest presidents.
Obama Was Selected, Not Elected
Words mean nothing to liberals. They say whatever will help advance their cause at the moment, switch talking points in a heartbeat, and then act indignant if anyone uses the exact same argument they were using five minutes ago.
Obama's Dimestore 'Mein Kampf'
If characters from "The Hills" were to emote about race, I imagine it would sound like B. Hussein Obama's autobiography, "Dreams From My Father." Has anybody read this book? Inasmuch as the book reveals Obama to be a flabbergasting lunatic, I gather the answer is no. Obama is about to be our next president: You might want to take a peek. If only people had read "Mein Kampf" ...
Hillary: Swiftboated!
Hillary is being "swiftboated"! She claimed that she came under sniper fire when she visited in Bosnia in 1996, but was contradicted by videotape showing her sauntering off the plane and stopping on the tarmac to listen to a little girl read her a poem.
Throw Grandma Under the Bus
Obama gave a nice speech, except for everything he said about race. He apparently believes we're not talking enough about race. This is like hearing Britney Spears say we're not talking enough about pop-tarts with substance-abuse problems.
William F. Buckley: R.I.P., Enfant Terrible
William F. Buckley was the original enfant terrible. As with Ronald Reagan, everyone prefers to remember great men when they weren't being great, but later, when they were being admired. Having changed the world, there came a point when Buckley no longer needed to shock it.
How to Keep Reagan Out of Office
Inasmuch as the current presidential election has come down to a choice among hemlock, self-immolation or the traditional gun in the mouth, now is the time for patriotic Americans to review what went wrong and to start planning for 2012.
